Now let's talk style and upcoming trends for 2012!

Currently the overall trend on the runways screams romance and femininty.

Rich organza fabrics with lots of ruffles, layers, and floral accents are perfect for the bride seeking a dramatic look without being too over the top.

Lace-nothing is as classic and timeless as the lace dress. And I am not talking about a lace dress that looks like your great grandmother's tablecloth.
Current popular lace silhouttes are Slim A-lines, dropped waists, and fit-n-flare styles that make this vintage look a real show stopper.

But mostly the biggest trend and one I am loving the most right now is THE BELT!

Let me just tell you the difference that adding a belt can make to a dress. Not only does this accent piece allow you to customize your dress, but it also is very flattering.

**Remember... LOOKING and FEELING like a more glamourous version of your fantastic self is the main goal when styling your Bridal look.

Now that we have your look finalized let's discuss ideas and color trends for this next year....

For the last several years the rustic/barn theme has been extremely popular and this will continue into 2012.

But according to Carly Roney (Co-Founder and Editor in Chief of the Knot) Black tie Formal will be making a strong come back.

When adding more formal accents to a wedding, the event seems to feel more special and essentially feels more romantic. Formal Bridesmaids attire look very clean next to the solid Black Tux with black vest, cumberbun, and tie. The solid black Bridesmaids Dress is elegant, formal, and really one your Bridesmaids might actually wear again.

In keeping with the formal look we will also see Neutral color palettes reign.

Think Kim Kardashian wedding or the wedding of Prince William and Kate.

Bridesmaids and Flowergirls may also wear white or shades of white. Now for many of you this may seem a little out there and you may want to be the only one in white on your special day so instead you can accent with champagne or light gold colors for a really rich and glamourous look.

Some other great color options we are seeing right now is charcoal gray accented with shades of green, yellow, or pink.

Royal Blue.... this color is very fun to use with shades of green, purple, and turquoise and to accent with peacock feathers.

When it comes to planning your wedding there are a few key elements that need to be decided on first to kick off the whole wedding planning process and to be the most efficient.

1. Get a Fiance :)

3. Find a location

4. Find YOUR dress!

These 4 elements are what you really build the rest of the wedding ceremony and reception around...
i.e. cake, invitations, bridesmaids dresses.

TheKnot.com strongly advises brides to purchase their bridal gown no later than 6-9 months prior to their wedding date. However, please do not panic if your upcoming day is sooner than that and you are currently dressless because at Always & Forever we have hundreds of dresses in stock that can be purchased off the rack. We also offer several different payment plans.

Because we want your experience at Always & Forever to be as wonderful as your actual gown... here are a couple of pointers for making the most of your time shopping with us:

1. Make a reservation. A reservation is a window of time slotted for you to work one on one with one of our specialized Bridal consultants to find your wedding look. We do not require a reservation but strongly encourage one.

2. Shipping timeframes. Most bridal designers we work with have a standard shipping timeframe of 4-5 months. This is why we recommend purchasing a Bridal Gown 6-9 months before your wedding. This ensures you have plenty of time for alterations, bridal portraits, and PEACE OF MIND.

However AGAIN don't stress if your date is sooner. At Always and Forever we have hundreds of dresses in stock from sizes 2-28.

1. Announce your engagement. Send out engagement announcements, call all of your friends, send email blasts…do whatever you want! Tell the world to prepare for the most fabulous bride of all, because you’re getting married! *Right Away!

2. Pick a date! If you want to get married in the fall, consider your favorite college football team’s schedule. If you’d like getting married in the summer, consider the possible occurrence of a heat stroke—well, maybe not a heat stroke, but do consider the weather! Once all things are considered, finalize this date and either {and in my most firm opinion- go with choice A} A. Book a wedding planner or B. Make a list of options for venues! *8-10 months in advance

3. Decide on attendants. After your venue is chosen, it will be easier to decide exactly how many attendants you would like to have! Make sure the amount of attendants will compliment the amount of space in which your ceremony will take place.

4. Gown Shopping. The BEST part of your engagement! Decide who is MOST important to you and schedule a bridal appointment. I don’t suggest bringing 7 of your closest friends + Mom + the Grandmas + your Sister. If you can, bring your mom and someone else that has an opinion that is important to you! {Closest friends come later during the bridesmaid dress hunt!}

5. Pick a Dress! Once you’ve found “the one” go ahead and order it! Most boutiques require half down payment at time of order and then the balance is due when the dress comes in. *8-10 months in advance

Celebrity Wedding: Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert wore her "something old" during her ceremony earlier this month when she married fellow country star, Blake Shelton. She paired custom Casadei cowboy boots and a fabulous, flirty headpiece with her mother's slim,and flowy spaghetti strapped ivory silk gown.

"My parents have been married for 33 years, so this dress is already a good-luck charm," the bride tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands now).

In true celebrity fashion, the bride changed into Priscilla of Boston's "Drew" from the Vineyard collection for the reception. The ivory, short strapless has vertical bodice seaming and a draped bust line finished off with a super fun tulle hem. Perfect for a "boot scooting boogie" or two.

Paired with chunkier jewelry and the same headpiece, Miranda took her soft, romantic bridal ceremony style to a swingy, flirty reception feel with a simple wardrobe change.

Time Line: Buying Your Gown

Over the past few weeks, it has become apparent that many of our brides are unaware of the "gown time-line," so we thought we'd take a moment and break it down. This is a rough time-line and will vary by month as well as by designer.

Typically, it takes 4 to 5 months for a gown to ship (not arrive) from the designer. It can take less time but a well planned bride always works off of worst case scenarios.

Once your gown arrives in the boutique, you will need to schedule an appointment to pick up your gown. Then head with it to your seamstress to begin alterations.

Alterations can take anywhere from 1 to 2 months depending on your schedule, their schedule and the amount of work to be done. This process may include multiple visits to the seamstress.

Add all this up and you are looking at approximately 7 months - just to get the dress ready to wear!

Now, factor in bridal portraits since this is the first time you will wear your gown (assuming you are taking bridal portraits). Then, factor in climate. Why climate? Well, we do live in Arkansas. July-September equals dreadfully HOT! December - March equals all things dead (see plants.) If you have your heart on outdoor portraits, and don't want to be miserable... this could drastically change your time-line.

Example: You are getting married in October. You are taking bridal portraits and want them outdoors so you probably want to take them April - June. To have your gown ready in time, you need to have it purchased by November. Amazing how quickly time gets away from you!

From December until the end of February, the time-line gets longer as you have to factor in the holidays. Gown production typically takes three weeks off during this time which means that your time-line needs to expand by three weeks during these months.

Helpful Hints: Start early, be prepared to buy at your first appointment (we didn't say you had to - just be prepared to) and the gown shopping experience will be blissful.

We love moms! We love our mom (that's you LaBeth). We love brides who are already moms, brides who are on their way to becoming moms, and of course the moms and future moms of our brides!

We've got a lot of love going around, but we do not love the STANDARD mother of the bride attire. Those frumpy looking outfits do not do ANY mom justice.

Shelly's Cowgirl Chic Bachelorette Party!

As sister of the bride, I can now say I successfully accomplished my first Maid of Honor gig this past weekend... Shelly's Bachelorette Party! Anybody who knows Shelly, is well aware that she has a special place in her heart for Fort Worth, Texas. So, it was only natural that her last night out as a single lady would be there! We saddled our horses and headed out west to her country chic bachelorette extravaganza that went off without a hitch!

The Invitation:

The Entourage - Eleven of Shelly's closest friends traveled from Austin, Little Rock, Fort Smith, and Phoenix! Neeley from Phoenix was a complete suprise to Shelly. SHOCK AND AWE!

I was determined to make the "Cowgirl Chic" bachelorette party ultra fabulous- never to be mistaken with an 8 year old western birthday party. So I began googling old western stuff and low and behold found a Western Pinup Girl page! PERFECT! I then came across a tone of images when I googled western pinup girls. These images offered great options for printing pictures to turn into fun cupcake toppers and to use on my DIY invitation (see first image). Print on cardstock for professional looking quality and cut with pinking sheers :)

Red and white polka dots set the tone — I found the napkins and paper plates at Paper Source and Walmart.

Transform bottles and containers by adding fun paper straws (which I found on Etsy) and by adding ribbon edging details. Serve up some "Poinsetta" deliciousness and voila! The beginning of what was a fabulous cowgirl chic party!

I think what I love most about these colors together is that when they are paired together it's hard to take them very seriously. Simply put, these colors are quirky. Bridal Market is the chance for designers to show off their new lines, and our chance to find out what's hot in wedding fashion. Here are 10 Spring wedding dress trends we found in Dallas this past weekend! Let the countdown begin!

10. Pick-Ups
Voluminous pick-up skirts guarantee to give your bridal look loads of extra drama and southern charm. Check out Mori Lee's 2217.

9. Full A-Line Skirts and Ball Gowns
The A-line silhouette features a shape that is fitted around the bodice and flows out to the ground, resembling the outline of an uppercase A. This sihouette is classic and elegant. Although this Casablanca 1894 is not a Spring 2011 style, we saw many dresses with this shape at market.

8. Lace
All bridal fabrics are beautiful, but none combine history and romance as well as lace. Lace gowns will continue to be seen through 2011! WE LOVE LACE!!!

7. Bows
From soft chiffon styles to more structural satin ones, these girly details are the hottest knots to hit the bridal fashion runways! BRING ON THE BOWS!!!!

6. 50's Flair
Bridal designers must be as obsessed with the vintage look of the 50's! There were high necklines, tulle skirts, and tea-length styles on the runway! If a pair of great legs is among your best features, why not show them off? A shorter hemline may also give you more freedom to move on the dance floor.

GIGI- Has a whole new look for 2011 - leaving the sexier styles for LaFemme. Even Michael, LaFemme's CEO, couldn't even believe how brilliant the line was. He said it atleast 20+ times.. "This is GIGI!!! Can you BELIEVE this is GIGI!?!?!" (we shook our heads no) Hil-arious!

Many online shops are set up to prey on hopeful brides. They advertise deeply discounted prices on couture gowns, and brides think they have found a great deal. However, the risk is often greater than the dollars saved.

Online discounters will list gowns by popular designers such as Maggie Sottero, Sottero & Midgley, Mori Lee, and Casablanca. They will show photos of gowns along with deeply discounted prices. Please remember that if something seems too good to be true, it usually is!!

Our designers do not associate with these types of discounters. By purchasing from one of these websites, you are at risk of not receiving your gown and therefore losing your money. We were recently notified about a couple different websites like these, which are fraudulently selling bridal gowns. None of the designers that are listed on these websites are connected with the actual designers. Companies such as these are taking advantage of brides, as well as the designers whose gowns they claim to sell.

Your wedding gown is a very important purchase! Please be sure you are dealing with a reputable company!! Otherwise you stand to lose your money and have no gown for your wedding day. You wouldn't be the first or second customer to walk through our door with this story. The money you think you are saving is not worth the heartache!

On a recent episode of Say Yes to the Dress on TLC, Kleinfeld Fashion Director Randy Fenoli offered “The Cardinal Rules of Wedding Dress Shopping.” As simple as these rules may sound, following them can help any bride find her perfect wedding dress with out all the stress.

1) “Don’t try on a dress that is outside of your budget”A bride will inevitably fall in love with one she cannot afford and will be very disappointed when she can't have it.

2) “Don’t keep secrets from the bridal consultant”If the bride has already seen something somewhere else that she likes, she should let the store consultant know so she can work with her.

3) “Leave the entourage at home”It’s ok to bring a friend or family member but the more people a bride brings, the more opinions she will hear and the more confused she might be.

Where do you get your dresses from, and do you buy them back from customers? We get ALL of our dresses from the designer's warehouse. Everything in the store is *BRAND NEW*!!!* Never pre-owned or pre-worn.

What is your average priced gown? Our average priced gown is $800.

What sizes do you carry? We currently stock sizes 0 – 24W, but can order in other sizes.

Do I need to make an appointment? We ask you make an appointment when you are shopping for your bridal gown and bridesmaid's dresses. This allows us to ensure you with a dressing room, service and attention you need to make shopping pleasant and enjoyable. The door is always open for you to stop in and browse. No appointments are necessary for prom, accessories and flower girl shopping.

How much are your bridesmaid dresses? Our bridesmaid dresses range in price from $99 to $250. If you have 6 or more bridesmaids or have purchased a regular priced bridal gown from us, you will receive 10% off each bridesmaid dress!!!

How long does it take to special order in a gown? Typically it takes 4 to 5 months to order in a bridal gown, unless the designer has it in stock..(which is extrememly unlikely). Bridesmaids and Mothers typically take 10 to 12 weeks.

Finding Your Gown

Top 10: Advice on finding your BRIDAL GOWN!

#1: Be open minded! Believe it or not...what you think reminds you of your grandmother's dress on the hanger, may in fact be the dress of your dreams!!!

#2: Bring someone that knows your style such as a close friend or relative. I'm sure the groom doesn't want to see you in something that your bestfriend would wear on her wedding day. He wants to see you at YOUR VERY BEST!

#3 DON'T PURCHASE YOUR DRESS ONLINE! You miss out on the whole experience and risk the dress not being ordered in the correct size. And yes, we have witnessed the frantic bride that was waiting for her dress a week prior to the wedding...let's just say it wasn't pretty.

#4 Don't worry what the groom will think. If he loves you, he will love what you pick! He wants to see you feeling incredible in whatever it is you wear, so if you're glowing he will be too!

#5 Have fun! Remember that you have been dreaming of this day since you were five. Don't let this decision or any wedding decision for that matter put a cloud over your head. SMILE!!! YOUR GETTING MARRIED!!!

#6 If you hate the little bow on the dress, ask the consultant if you can order it without it. Chances are you can. Keep in mind (contrary to what the magazines always say) there might be a charge for it. It won't lower the cost of the dress.

#7 Price vs. Love: If you love the dress, GO FOR IT! Don't settle for less on what your wearing for your big day. You can always take some of the budget from the centerpieces and so on. No one will know and we won't tell. :)

#8: Research designers online and make a scrap book of styles that you like. Keep in mind that it may all change when you start trying on at your appointment.

#9: Save the group shopping for the mall. This should be a personal experience that you should only share with one or two. Too many opinions only ends in confusion and frustration.

#10: When you find it, you find it. Don't second guess yourself or keep looking at other stores. This will only cause confusion, and you risk being convinced into picking your second favorite choice. BOO HISS!

Here’s a look at some current headpiece trends:
Birdcage Veils – Birdcage veils have slowly been making a comeback, but this year there has been more demand for them than ever. These short veils usually are worn over all or part of the face and are made of a diamond-shaped netting. Some have one comb in the center that is attached on the top of the head. Others have two combs that attach on either side of the head. They give a beautiful vintage feel, and are perfect paired with a feather or flower

Fascinators – Fascinators are generally made with feathers, flowers, rhinestones, crystals and/or beads and are attached to a comb, headband or clip. Sometimes worn with a veil, they can also be worn alone. They come in a wide variety of sizes and can be very delicate or really make a statement. Personally, I want to wear these pieces every day that ends in a Y! I'm talking FABULOUS!

Headbands - we have seen a trend towards fewer traditional tiaras and more headbands. They are available in a wide range of styles from a simple, single row of rhinestones to a simple band with an off-center focal point to wide headbands with tons of sparkle. They can be worn with or without a veil and with hair up or down. They are great for short hair as well.

No Veil - A veil is no longer an essential part of the bride’s look. Many brides are choosing to just wear a tiara, headband or fascinator without the veil. The choice is up to personal preference. Many brides wear their veil just for the ceremony, and remove it for the reception just for the sake of comfort.

Bridesmaid Beauties... Keepin' the Girls Flawless

Time and time again we hear how bride's want their bridesmaids to look and feel beautiful in what they pick out for them. As different as they all are personality-wise, so are their body types. Here are a few tip on how to Keep the Girls Flawless:

TIP 1: Choose a flattering style, some of the hottest styles right now are long and flowy such as

B2's B2078 and Belsoie's L3001

We are also seeing a growing interest in cold shoulders and taffetas:

Tip 2: If you you decide the easiest route to please everybody and fit the different body types is to let the girls pick out their own dress.... GREAT!!! You just need to choose the designer, fabric, and color and we'll take it from there :)

Tip 3: Remember standard shipping is 12 to 14 weeks on bridesmaid orders. We can get the dresses faster but there will be an additional fee.

Tip 4: Rule of thumb, the number of bridesmaids you have is the the number of weeks it will take to get all bridesmaids measurements and deposits to order the dresses! If your bridesmaids live out of town *DON'T WORRY* have your beauties find a local seamstress (most drycleaners have one) and have them measure their bust, waist, and hips and call them in.

Tip: 5: Be courteous to your seamstress and allow at least one month for alterations!
